Welcome

THE HON ERIC S RIPPER BA DipEd MLA

Deputy Premier; Treasurer; Minister for State Development

Member for Belmont

All around Western Australia, our Government is investing in infrastructure to build a better future for all Western Australians. We are building Western Australia.

We are building infrastructure to serve the community for decades to come – new hospitals, schools and police stations. Building economic infrastructure to fuel the economy. And building social infrastructure like the new Perth Arena, Northbridge Theatre, Albany Waterfront redevelopment, Geraldton foreshore redevelopment, and a new world-class museum and sports stadium for Western Australia.

At the same time, we are continuing to deliver world class services in health, education and community safety.

We have hired more than 1800 nurses and cut waiting lists for elective surgery by more than a third. We have upgraded 22 hospitals, with a further 27 hospitals and health centres underway.

1300 extra teachers are now in our school system and we’ve built 50 new schools. We have recruited 420 extra police, with more on the way, and home burglaries have been cut by 35 per cent.

We’re making big decisions in the long term interests of the State. We’re making decisions for tomorrow, not just for today.
