Premier Mark McGowan announces the new Police Commissioner for WA, Chris Dawson APM.
The State Government has appointed Chris Dawson APM as Western Australia's new Commissioner of Police. Mr Dawson was formerly WA Police Deputy Commissioner for 10 years and has more recently headed up the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission for the past three and a half years. State Cabinet and Executive Council have approved the appointment for a term of five years. Mr Dawson has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, having served in both country and metropolitan positions throughout Western Australia.
